wq conf 2011

Thanks to everyone who helped the WQ conference turn into a great success! Here are a few pics for you to enjoy! This conference was 1-week long and included leading scientists in the water quality field from USGS, NOAA, USDA, and SFWMD. It was a great experience. This endeavor is usually organized by myself (Kati) and Dr. Yuncong Li.

WQ Course in Homestead

Next week we will host the 2011 WQ course in Homestead for UF faculty. We are very excited about this and look forward to great speakers and fun! I know some of you are in GNV and can't attend - but presentations will be video taped and you will have the opportunity to see them at a later date.

BIG thanks to all those who have helped with this!!

New video…about making videos!

I recently produced a video with Miami Dade Extension’s Urban Conservation Unit (UCU). Our goal: to encourage the other Extension programs to utilize existing video equipment to promote and further their work.

Thanks to the development of video work in Dr. Kati Migliaccio’s Water Resource Engineering program, the use of visual media as a means of education and promotion has been available to the UCU since its inception. Since then, we’ve moved forward with the medium, developing our abilities both on and off camera with each new production.

This video is geared toward Extension staff with little to no video making experience. It covers basic concepts and offers suggestions for video work in specific situations relevant to these parties.

This is our first foray into non-irrigation related video work and where possible we tried to communicate information in a simple and creative manner. Check it out here.
